Heart of the Art: Tremble

The Inspiration

There’s a classic worship song titled “Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble?”, one that screams nostalgia and campfire vibes. There’s a few verses in Scripture about the mountains trembling, but their context is in the sense of fear; God’s chosen people were constantly getting on His nerves because they were stubborn and refused to listen to His commands, and despite many prophets and influential figures trying to lead them back, it was a constant cycle. There’s a difference between the fear of the Lord and just fearing the Lord; fear of the Lord has an underlying aspect of awe and respect of His authority, whereas fearing the Lord comes off as trying to not get on His bad side (He’s not solely interested in making everyone run and hide from His power, not His style.) it’s a healthy aspiration to have in life: awe and respect for God’s divine power and authority, but also understanding that same power and authority’s greater aspect is love.

The Breakdown

Started out with an edit made in Crystals Wallpaper, went for a color scheme that was varied in color tones. Brought this into Union as the foreground with the Unsplash photo in lighten mode to have the crystals blend into the mountain. This edit was color graded in Mextures.
