Heart of the Art: Perspective

The Inspiration

You give up a few things, chasing a dream.

John Silver, Treasure Planet

We could relate to this cyborg. In the desire for greater things in life, it’s easy for us to lose sight of what matters long term in favor of what benefits us right away. Our culture has shifted into resorting to quick fixes, fast results, immediate satisfaction; it can be hardest to see in ourselves, when our eyes are fixed on what we can see just up ahead. As wonderful as it may be, we can’t forget that there’s so much more beyond that horizon; life reaches way past what we can visualize here and now. Our encouragement to you is to not always settle for what we can latch on to now, but strive for the things that will benefit us later on too; Jeremiah 29:11 is a classic verse that shares God’s heart with us:

I know what I am planning for you,” says the LORD. “I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.

For us here at Xross Art, our joy isn’t found in how many followers we have, or how many likes and comments we get with each post; rather, it’s found in being part of an inspiring community and sharing our message of hope to YOU. It may seem pretty good now, but we aspire to see this page grow farther than we could visualize at this point in the journey; if by the end of this year only one person gets reached and impacted by the heart of this project, then it will all be worth it.

The Breakdown

This edit started out with a photo from NASA’s free-for-all available on the Pixite apps. It was taken into Mextures to add some grit/grain for a base star effect, and then into Reflect to add the ocean as well as more star effects. The final product was color graded in Faded.

Blessings,
Xross Art
