Heart of the Art: Sight

The Inspiration

During a recent conversation with a friend, the subject of eyes came up. Even though the talk was mainly about how it’s a significant feature that people consider when they are attracted to someone, it made me think of the significance of eyes altogether. In 1 Samuel 16, God tells Samuel, “people look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” As much as we can see with our eyes, there’s still so much under the surface of others that we can’t observe; it could be a mix of emotions, dreams, ideas, or underlying circumstances hidden behind a face that says “I’m alright.” Don’t be afraid to reach out to friends and peers and tell them “I’m here for you.”, because you never know if that might be just what they need to get the help they desire. God sees us to the most intimate detail, and that should encourage us to not take our friends or even strangers at surface value.

The Breakdown

This edit started out in Arc Construkt to make the shape. After adding a ND pattern around the edge and a lens flare from Alien Sky, it was color graded in Mextures.
