Heart of the Art: Dreams That Fly

The Inspiration

Iron Man’s been a personal favorite superhero ever since high school. What drew me to this character was how his personal experience had a lot of elements I could relate to, particularly his identity struggles and how that led to his fall into alcoholism and ultimately having to step down as the man under the suit. For me, it relates heavily to everyone that struggles with a particular sin; you could have the coolest lifestyle, a great reputation, and all the things you’d want in life, but if sin’s got any part of it, it’s only a matter of time before it can have the same effect. We were created to do great things, filled with incredible purpose, and made to reach heights beyond what we could see now. Don’t let a hard time keep you down, because God’s got your future laid out (Jeremiah 29:11).

The Breakdown

This was an extremely simple edit. Borrowed a Google image of Iron Man and attached it to this photo from Unsplash, brought it to Alien Sky to add a comet effect for the energy trail and a lens flare to satisfy my inner J.J. Abrams, and finished it off with very subtle alterations in Faded. Told you it was simple.

Blessings,
