Heart of the Art: Found in the Mystery

The Inspiration

If you’ve been a regular churchgoer within the past few years, chances are you’ve heard the song “Oceans” by Hillsong United. It’s still making an impact to worship services everywhere; more than a few of my first edits were typography edits using lyrics from that song, and this is another to add to that list. A song about faith being strong in the depths of hard times is difficult to sing genuinely, because those words might not always be true coming off our lips. The significance of these words have changed over time and through circumstances, because if it weren’t for faith, to tell you the truth I wouldn’t even be here; there’s been many times I could have given up on life, but I’m glad to say that I’m still here and still pressing on.

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surround me
You’ve never failed, and You won’t stop now

The Breakdown

Yes, another photo from Unsplash. First I ran it through Fragment trying out the new 3D features that released today (the legends at Pixite are even sending out free 3D glasses to whoever is interested/doesn’t own a pair!) After that it went to Union to add an overlay made by Instagram user @jonathanswinney, and lastly some color adjustments in Faded.

Blessings,
Xross Art
